Lights, Camera, Staged! Creating Video Content to Market Your Home Staging Business
The Real Estate Staging Association is happy to host experienced video content creator Daniel Coffman (@StagedSpaces), this Summer for a BONUS SESSION. In this workshop, you will learn how to create compelling video content that will help you market your home staging business and build trust with potential clients. You’ll learn the basics of shooting and getting your videos live, as well as tips and tricks for making your videos engaging and effective.
In order to attend this intimate training RESACON registration is required with the additional add-on for this event.
Daniel Coffman will provide a video that participants can watch ahead of time to gain a basic understanding of the concepts and skills necessary for creating video content.
The Video Will Cover:
Daniel will also provide examples of successful home staging videos that participants can use as inspiration for their own projects.
A portion of this video will be dedicated towards collecting 5 min of footage that will be utilized in the hands on portion of this workshop.
In addition Daniel will provide participants with a video planning worksheet that covers some of the key concepts and skills they’ll need to create successful video content.
Prior to the Workshop attendees will be asked to digitally prepare 5 still photos of their best work (multiple projects or multiple shots of just one) and up to five :60 second clips of previously recorded video utilizing some of the filming techniques they learned form the tutorial video they received upon registering for the class (Mentioned above). In addition Attendees should have a fully charged smartphone And have downloaded the free “InShOt editing app.”
During the workshop, Daniel Coffman will cover the following topics:
The Agenda for this workshop will look like this:
1. Participants will create a a promotional video for their business. They will choose a prompt from the following list:
a. Let me tell you why I am in business
b. Here is why we should work together
c. Tips only your stager knows
d. Staging sells! Let me tell you why.
2. Writing the script/drafting text: Attendees will draft their scripts or text based on the prompts they choose.
3. Working in groups attendees will collecting video footage of each of the participating stagers. This will take place with a scenic backdrop utilizing a picturesque area of the resort. Daniel will help direct and even assist in filming/directing to ensure quality shots and to boost attendees confidence when in front of the camera. (Stagers are encouraged to dress and groom for camera readiness, but also be comfortable and authentic)
4. Editing: the attending stagers, with Daniels assistance, will link together their previously recorded footage, photos, and newly recored footage utilizing the InShOt app.
5. Applying the script/text: Utilizing the scripts written earlier in the workshop Attendees will record their voiceovers or apply their text and music to the their video commercials and and export their new creation to their desired social app or save to their camera roll for posting later.
6. Daniel will review some of the creations and provide feedback. (Time Permitting)
7. Best Practices for Posting: Attendees will be led in a discussion of how to hashtag and caption their video content to achieve best results for being discovered online.
8. Recap and Take Aways: Daniel will recap the formula used to create more content like the ones produced in the workshop and encourage students to keep creating!
